Background
Diarrhea is one of the most common clinical diseases, characterized by symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Infections of the small intestine often present with watery diarrhea, whereas infections of the large intestine frequently involve bloody stools, among other varied symptoms. It can be caused by multiple pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Bacterial pathogens are among the leading causes of diarrhea.
This product is designed for the qualitative detection of bacterial diarrhea pathogens in human fecal samples, including: DEC (the four diarrheagenic E. coli pathotypes EPEC, EHEC, ETEC, and EAEC), Salmonella spp., Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Shigella spp., Vibrio cholerae, Campylobacter spp. (C. jejuni and C. coli), Vibrio fluvialis, Yersinia enterocolitica, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Aeromonas hydrophila, Clostridioides difficile, Cronobacter sakazakii. The assay differentiates between the thirteen bacterial diarrhea pathogens listed above. Results are for research use only and must not be used for clinical diagnosis. Use only with the company's Automatic Real-time Fluorescent Nucleic Acid Cartridge Analyzer(BHQ-III).
